Picture It & Write

Again the people over at Ermilia’s blog have posted another Picture It & Write article. For those who don’t know what this is, they post a picture and then write a brief story about the image. They then ask for you to join in, your can either carry on their story or write your own. You can also do poetry and even something in another language (providing there is a translation posted along with it). I encourage everyone to give it a go because it helps get the “creative juices” flowing. The cake remained untouched, the ice cream slowly melting to pool on the plate. All appetite fled, as I was no longer digesting just food, but information as well.

It was a normal day as far as my life was concerned. As a police officer in New York, life couldn’t be considered “normal” by your standards, but like  I said, as far as MY life was concerned then yeah, it was a normal day.

It was all okay until I ordered that cake. As soon as it was set in front of me a call came over the radio for all available officers to respond to an incident in Queens. Shots had been fired at an address, and not just any address.

At my home.

No survivors.
